What is it with me and kitchen bowls?
I honestly cannot stop buying them to the point I am obsessed and even I can’t understand why because at the end of the day they are just bowls and they all serve the same function.
But I have bowls in all different shapes, sizes, materials and designs and I’m in love with pretty patterns and having a bowl for every meal and occasion.
Am I weird or do you share my bowl passion too? I know, I’m alone on this one aren’t I?
Well anyway, let me share some of my favourites seeing as you’re here…
Ceramic Bowls
The one bowl I appear to love more than other is any one made of ceramic mostly for their design element and the way they enhance both the kitchen and the food being served.
I have dozens of these for different uses including…
- Pasta Bowls
- Soup Bowls
- Cereal Bowls
- Mixing Bowls
- Bowls with Lids (not even sure what for!)
Ceramic Serving Bowls
If I’m having guests over the ceramic serving bowls with the nicest patterns come out, as if we eat like this every day when we most certainly don’t.
Most days I’m slurping ramen on the couch whilst watching TV but yes, I do at least use a traditional Japanese ramen bowl, I’m not a complete slob (honest!).
Here’s some of the prettiest bowls…
Ceramic Cereal Bowls
I eat a lot of cereal in the morning as it’s just so quick and easy and I also have a specific ceramic cereal bowl that I don’t use for anything else.
Ceramic Pasta Bowls
Pasta is another favourite of mines for an evening meal because again it’s quick, easy, tasty and very versatile, I can whip up a lovely sauce quickly and have pasta cooked within a few minutes.
And yes again, I have a specific pasta ceramic bowl for that use only but I think that’s justified as pasta bowls are typically wider and lower than a standard bowl so when eating spaghetti it’s easier to get from bowl to mouth.
Here’s some lovely ceramic pasta bowls…
Ceramic Mixing Bowls
If you love to bake, as I do, then a good quality mixing bowl is a must and as i’m ceramic bowl obsessed then of course that’s the material I chose when buying.
Ceramic Nesting Bowls
If you want a set of ceramic nesting bowls, they look so cute, then there are great affordable options…
Ceramic Bowls With Lids
And if it’s essential your ceramic bowl comes with a lid these are great options too…
Dessert Bowls & Ice Cream Bowls
When you eat as many desserts and ice cream as I do then you need specialist crockery for them.
Why?
It just adds to the treat when you’re eating your favourite sweet treat from a beautiful bowl I find.
Popcorn Bowls
I often eat popcorn after dinner for a dessert and always during a movie at home so I wanted a specialist popcorn bowl for that purpose because if something is worth doing it’s worth doing right.
What goes well with a movie? A homemade cocktail…
Punch Bowls
I love making homemade punch at the weekend or for guests coming over and it’s the perfect ice breaker for parties too.
When I’m not pigging out on punch, popcorn, and ice cream I do actually eat a lot of desserts particularly during summer and warm evenings and it wouldn’t be right now to have a salad bowl.
And for me only a wooden salad bowl will do, it just feels natural…
Wooden Salad Bowls
How rustic and classy does a wooden salad bowl look? It’s beautiful and feels so traditional, a plastic salad bowl or any other material just wouldn’t cut it.
Soup Bowls
Soup is a lunch favourite of mines, I often make a roasted tomato and pepper or smokey lentil soup at the weekend for lunch all week and it’s something I never get bored of.
And yet again I have a ceramic soup bowl just for the purpose.
Ceramic Soup Bowls
My favourite Soup? French Onion Soup without a doubt.
French Soup Bowls (Aka Soup Bowls With Handles and Lids)
And I have a specific bowl for it (that is sad, isn’t it?) and I love it because it has a dainty little handle and lid like these ones below and it’s oven safe too…
Other Random Bowls I Own
Here’s a few of the other random bowls I own…
Styrofoam Bowls with Lids
These are just for casual use when I want to dispose instead of clean but I love them, Styrofoam bowls with lids
Tupperware Bowls Sets
You can’t go wrong with Tupperware in general but these Tupperware bowl sets are fantastic
Wooden Bowl Sets
Wooden bowls are just adorable and I think every kitchen needs them
My Favourite Bowls
So these are some of the many bowls I own that take up far too much space in my kitchen yet I still keep buying more because I have a weird bowl obsession.
I hope you found some inspiration here at least and pick up the bowls you need, want, and might not even need but can’t resist…just remember you can never be as bad as me and my obsession.
