How to Reheat Artichokes

Artichokes can be quite intimidating if you’ve never dealt with them before.

But if you managed to pluck up the courage to cook them, then reheating will be a piece of cake.

When it comes to reheating artichokes, it’s good to know the best method that you can follow.

Gear up, because today, I’m going to tell you everything you need to know about reheating artichokes.

What’s the Best Way to Reheat Artichokes?

There are many ways that you can reheat artichokes.

It all depends on the quantity, the method you used to cook and whether the artichokes are whole or chopped.

The three methods that work best are:

1. Oven Reheating

I, personally, prefer reheating with an oven because this method is simple, and it doesn’t matter the process you used to cook the artichokes.

I recommend using a traditional kitchen oven though a toaster oven can work just fine.

Steps to Reheating with an Oven

Step 1: Wrap the artichokes in foil. Wrapping them will help retain the texture and quality of the artichokes.

Alternatively, you can transfer them to a baking dish then cover it with foil.

Step 2: Preheat your kitchen oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 3: Add a trickle of olive oil and 1 or 2 tablespoons of water to your baking dish.

Step 4: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

Step 5: You can continue heating for another 10 minutes if you feel the artichokes need some more warming.

2. Microwave Reheating

Reheating your artichokes with a microwave works just as effectively as with an oven.

Although you need to ensure you follow the correct procedure so that the texture and quality are not affected.

Steps to Reheating with a Microwave

Step 1: Transfer the artichokes to a bowl. Avoid using a plate for this method.

Step 2: Add a trickle of olive oil or melted butter. They might help prevent the artichokes from drying out when microwaving.

Step 3: Cover the bowl with cling film and microwave for a minute or two.

The amount of time you need to microwave will depend on the volume of the articles and whether they are whole or chopped.

Step 4: Remove the cling film and serve.

3. Steaming

Steaming works well if you’re reheating stuffed artichokes.

This method might, however, take more time compared to using a microwave or an oven.

Steps to Reheating by Steaming

Step 1: Add some water to a soup pot. Add just enough to ensure the artichokes do not submerge fully.

Step 2: Add a tablespoon or 2 of olive oil into the water.

Step 3: Gently place the artichokes into the soup pot.

Step 4: Steam for 25 to 30 minutes at medium to high heat. You can check at intervals of 10 minutes to see if the artichokes have warmed up to your liking.

To Sum Up

Reheating artichokes shouldn’t take you more than 45 minutes.

The three reheating methods that work best are steaming, using an oven or using a microwave.

I hope this guide has taught you a lot, and I hope you enjoy the artichokes.
