ToggleWhat is A Commercial Juicer?
A commercial juicer is an electric appliance whose main function is to extract the maximum possible amount of juice from fruits, vegetables and herbs swiftly and efficiently.
Unlike a blender, a commercial juicer works by separating juice from the pulp – therefore, producing pure juices that are ideal for cocktails and health drinks (juice your own orange juice).
What Kind of Juicers do Juice Bars Use?
Commercial juicers used in juice bars are divided into three major types namely:
1. Centrifugal juicers
Centrifugal juicers use a blade and a high-spinning sieve to separate the juice from pulp.
Because of their speed and size, when under load, centrifugal juicers tend to be quite loud. Advantages of a centrifugal juicer include:
- Easy to use as well as clean
- Rapid spinning mean that they are super-fast
- There is no pre-cutting that is required.
- 2 Citrus juicers
Citrus juicers use the same method as traditional hand juicers which involves the use of a powerful motor that accelerate the juicing process.
They are mainly used for juicing apples limes, lemons, oranges and grapefruit. They are preferred largely because of:
- Efficiency – A citrus juicer saves you a huge chunk of time, money and effort.
- Speed – You only need to cut the fruit into half which works faster.
Masticating juicers also take more time to juice as compared to their centrifugal counterparts. Their benefits include:
- Quieter as compared to other juicers
- Nutrient rich juices
- Low levels of oxidisation
What’s the Difference Between a Commercial Juicer and a Normal Juicer?
A commercial juicer is equipped with a more powerful motor as compared to a normal juicer, are more durable and have larger components such as a large juicing screen, feeding tube and juicing bowl.
Commercial juicers process juices faster, and have huge pulp containers that require less frequency of emptying.
Which Juicer is Better – Hurom or Kuvings?
Both brands are excellent but Kuvings juicers are better. Kuvings juicers are slightly pricey as compared to Hurom juicers, but they boast a much more powerful motor which means faster juicing, and they are also less prone to jamming.
